"The cultural, gastronomic and touristic offers of Iasi have been enriched with an objective that even the Capital could be proud of: TRAVAGANT - the tasting place from Copou. It's not just a grocery store or a store, but also a space for hedonistic experiments and (self) education of tastes.
There can be purchased here - or tasted locally - hundreds of imported wines from renowned regions or from Romania, artisan breads, butter of internationally recognized quality, Italian salami, sausages or manufacturing sweets and a collection of cheeses - with soft paste or hard, boiled and non-boiled, with or without molds - brought from France by the owner of the premises, Tudor Bălan, the one who once founded one of the most famous post-decembrist restaurants in the city - Ralet - and most recently the application and the online shop PivotNoir.ro. The special butter that is proud of in this inaugural season Travagant is D´Isigny AOP, produced according to the traditional method in a dairy in Cotentin (France), from pasteurized and matured cream. The entrepreneur in Copou says he can turn even a modest snack into a memorable experience and that, when added to good quality products, he values them in a superior way. “We bring cheese delicacies from the La Finarde cellars - a cheese refinery located on a hangar in the Arras region (part of UNESCO's heritage). Fine cheeses need mastery and time to develop their character. Preserved in the maturing space from a few days to a few years, carefully and passionately watched, various types of local cheese or brought from other countries get bohemian textures and unique tastes, which it would be a shame not to meet! " , says the owner of the Tasting Place who trained in in France, before opening the business in Iasi.
